Guides & Counsellors

You will need only your personal items and a sleeping bag.

We will be covering 5 to 10 km a day at an easy pace, moving through numerous wilderness lakes and gentle rivers in a loop to return to our put in point 6 days later (depending on the trip you have chosen). We plan to be off the water each day by 3 pm to allow everyone plenty of time to relax, swim, fish, explore and enjoy the area we are camping in that night.

Not only will you experience the majesty of canoeing Canada’s wilderness, but also improve and enhance your paddling and wilderness skills as our ORCKA certified guides / instructors lead you on an extended wilderness odyssey that will be the highlight of your summer. You will have ample opportunity to experience equipment and techniques that will ensure that your experience with nature will be a safe, warm dry and comfortable one.

We often see moose, deer, beaver, osprey, loons and may hear wolves howling in the distance at night.

This Wolfmaan Outdoors canoe trip will be an event that will change and enhance your experience of wilderness canoe travel forever more.

Although there is no specific agenda, and the idea of the wilderness adventure is to take your time and explore every part of the area, each day will consist of the following:

  • Waking-up
  • Make breakfast
  • take-down and pack up camp
  • canoe around the island wherever you feel like going
  • Stop for lunch

There is no safer space to grow than a sitting around a campfire on a remote, deserted island in the Canadian wilderness.

Counselling topics covered will include:

Communication skills
Supporting young people / Behaviour management
Social change and activism
Health and safety
Goal setting and personal growth
